Geodetic Strain of the Baribis Fault Zone in West Java, Indonesia

Abstract The Baribis Fault’s status, which is located in the northern part of Java, as an active or inactive fault a matter considerable debate. In this study, we investigate strain rate zone’s segment northeastern West Indonesia, revealed by dense network GPS stations. We analyzed 17 surveyed stations combined with continuous sites over Java from 2017 to 2021, then estimate velocities fields. calculated and estimated it velocities. general, zone experiences significant (> 50 nano-strain/yr) compressional dilatation associated ongoing deformation that area. suggest thrust system.
