چکیده
Abstract We report a new zircon U–Pb age of 1257 ± 6 Ma for the Punugodu granite (PG) pluton in Eastern Dharwar Craton (EDC), Southern India. The Mesoproterozoic PG is alkali feldspar hypersolvus emplaced at shallow crustal level, as evident from presence rhyodacite xenoliths and hornfelsic texture developed metavolcanic country rocks Neoarchaean Nellore Schist Belt (NSB). Geochemically, metaluminous, ferroan alkali-calcic, characterized by high SiO 2 Na O + K O, Ga/Al ratios >2.6, high-field-strength elements rare earth element (REE) contents with low CaO, MgO Sr, indicating its similarity to anorogenic, (A-type) granite. highly fractionated REE patterns negative europium anomalies reflect evolved nature fractionation. Mafic (MME) hybrid (HME) microgranular enclaves represent distinct batches mantle-derived magmas that interacted, mingled undercooled within partly crystalline host magma. Felsic (FME) having similar mineralogical geochemical characteristics most likely fragments marginal rock facies pluton. appears be formed an oceanic island basalt (OIB)-like source within-plate setting. emplacement ( c. Ma) vicinity Kanigiri Ophiolite 1334 shows gap nearly 77 Ma, which probably suggests extensional environment along terrain boundary western margin NSB EDC.

New Data on the Mineralogy of Chromite from the Nuggihalli Schist Belt, Western Dharwar Craton, Karnataka, India: Petrogenetic Implications
The occurrence of rhythmic layering of chromite and host serpentinites in the deformed layered igneous complexes has been noticed in the Nuggihalli schist belt (NSB) in the western Dharwar craton, Karnataka, South India. For this study, the chromitite rock samples were collected from Jambur, Tagadur, Bhakatarhalli, Ranganbetta and Byrapur in the NSB. Petrography and ore microscopic studies on c...

Between the western and the eastern parts of the southern Alaskan Sanak–Baranof belt there exist variations in pluton spacing, geochronology, geochemistry and metamorphism. All such characteristics can be explained by increase in heat flux towards the eastern parts of the belt. Despite such differences, the initiation of magmatism propagated eastward at a constant rate of 19 cm/year throughout ...
