چکیده

Exploring and exploiting high-temperature (even supercritical) geothermal resources are significant to meet energy demands reduce carbon emissions. The Yangbajing field is the most exploited in China, with currently highest temperature (329.8 °C) measured a well. However, whether there supercritical fluids beneath deep parts of this under controversy. In paper, water isotope, chemical compositions, C–He isotopes gas samples were collected analyzed. originated from mixing meteoric magmatic (25%). sources CO2 dominated by thermogenic degassing carbonates metasediments crust while radioactive decay U Th granite source He. temperatures three different reservoirs 150 ± 15 °C, 250 10 ?320 °C (with depth ?8 km), respectively. Investigating the Ground Deformation and Source Model of the Yangbajing Geothermal Field in Tibet, China with the WLS InSAR Technique

Ground deformation contains important information that can be exploited to look into the dynamics of a geothermal system. In recent years, InSAR has manifested its strong power in the monitoring of ground deformation. In this paper, a multi-temporal InSAR algorithm, WLS InSAR, is employed to monitor and characterize the Yangbajing geothermal field in Tibet, China, using 51 ENVISAT/ASAR images a...

An Approach for Geochemical Assessment of Chipilapa Geothermal Field

It presents a systematic methodology to evaluate the reservoir characteristics of ChipilapaAhuachapan geothermal field through the highly diluted natural manifestations (springs and domestic wells) in its surroundings. The manifestations are classified in three main groups according to their mechanism of formation: high salinity water (HSW), medium salinity water (MSW), and Sulfated Water (SW)....

Geochemical Evaluation of Geopressued Geothermal Wellbore Cement

Geopressured reservoirs can serve as ample source of geothermal energy with temperatures as high as 140 0C. Salinities are typically high in these reservoirs due to the dissolution of surrounding salt domes. Cement retrogression can occur under these geopressured geothermal conditions resulting from calcium silicate hydrate [3CaO2SiO23H2O] phase in hydrated cement converting to alpha dicalciu...

Application of Geochemical Methods in Geothermal Exploration

Subsurface waters have been classified into meteoric water, ocean water, evolved connate water, magmatic water and juvenile water. Geothermal water is mostly meteoric and oceanic water although andesitic waters near subduction areas often contain significant proportions of evolved connate and magmatic waters. Geothermal waters have been classified with respect to their anion and cation contents...
