Genotype by Environment Interaction and Yield Stability of Coffee (<i>Coffea arabica</i> L.) Genotypes Evaluated in Western Ethiopia

The performance of genotypes under diverse environments can be used to determine their adaptability and stability. However, information on the coffee in various environmental conditions is limited. Thus, this study’s objectives were estimate genotype by environment interaction (GEI), evaluate mean stability 16 fruity flavored eight specialty growing western Ethiopia, assess magnitude correlations among different parameters. experiment was laid out a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with two replications. For yield, data recorded combined analysis variance performed. Additive main effect multiplicative (AMMI) revealed that genotypes, environments, GEI showed highly significant differences (P < .0.01) for bean yield. AMMI also 73.2% sum squares yield accounted first three principal component axes (IPCA). standard check variety G16 (Menesibu), G3(W54/99), G10 (W107/99) gave highest average yields 1537, 1458 1375 kg clean per hectare across respectively. Despite no consistently performing well due high GEI, G1 (W13/99) G5 (W54/99) relatively stable. Therefore, these recommended as useful genetic resources breeding high-yielding genotypes. since all below variety, additional should tested more develop stable varieties.
