Genotype 5 Japanese Encephalitis Virus—Old Genotype, New Threat

چکیده
Japanese encephalitis (JE) is an important viral with epidemic status in Asia, which caused by virus (JEV), a member of the genus Flavivirus . JEV divided into five genotypes. Genotype 5 (G5) relatively neglected because limited number cases and strains isolated. The first strain G5 (Muar strain) was isolated Singapore 1952 patient from Muar, Malaysia. second (XZ0934) 57 years later China, thus indicating re-emergence JEV. A female who had been vaccinated against JE infected Korea 2015. vaccine-preventable disease, its incidence has decreased vaccination many Asian countries. G3 main candidate for current vaccines, include attenuated, inactivated chimeric type vaccines. However, available vaccines do not provide adequate protection older lineage. Therefore, more research on this genotype crucial developing better detection methods, expanding surveillance to determine possible chains transmission new threat polyvalent vaccine.

Genotype V Japanese Encephalitis Virus Is Emerging
Japanese encephalitis (JE) is a global public health issue that has spread widely to more than 20 countries in Asia and has extended its geographic range to the south Pacific region including Australia. JE has become the most important cause of viral encephalitis in the world. Japanese encephalitis viruses (JEV) are divided into five genotypes, based on the nucleotide sequence of the envelope (...
متن کاملLow Protective Efficacy of the Current Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine against the Emerging Genotype 5 Japanese Encephalitis Virus.
BACKGROUND The current Japanese encephalitis (JE) vaccine derived from G3 JE virus (JEV) can induce protective immunity against G1-G4 JEV genotypes. However, protective efficacy against the emerging G5 genotype has not been reported. METHODS/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Using in vitro and in vivo tests, biological phenotype and cross-immunoreactions were compared between G3 JEV and G5 JEV (wild strains...
متن کاملEmergence of genotype I of Japanese encephalitis virus as the dominant genotype in Asia.
Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), a mosquito-borne zoonotic pathogen, is one of the major causes of viral encephalitis worldwide. Previous phylogenetic studies based on the envelope protein indicated that there are four genotypes, and surveillance data suggest that genotype I is gradually replacing genotype III as the dominant strain. Here we report an evolutionary analysis based on 98 full-le...
متن کاملJapanese Encephalitis Virus Genotype Replacement, Taiwan, 2009–2010
Genotype I of Japanese encephalitis virus first appeared in Taiwan in 2008. Phylogenetic analysis of 37 viruses from pig farms in 2009-2010 classified these viruses into 2 unique subclusters of genotype I viruses and suggested multiple introductions and swift replacement of genotype III by genotype I virus in Taiwan.

the epidemic PCR-ribotype 001. In particular, the identity between the 2 PCR ribotypes was 100% for the HMW proteins and 77% for the LMW proteins. This study provides convincing evidence that the S-layer is well conserved in C. diffi cile PCR-ribotype 027 strains and has high identity with the slpA of the epidemic PCR-ribotype 001. Because C. diffi cile PCRribotypes 027 and 001 are the most fre...
