چکیده

Background: Canine distemper virus (CDV) is an extremely contagious pathogen that causes deadly diseases in carnivores worldwide. Objectives: Considering the effect of CDV on host immune system and increased risk other infections, present study aimed to investigate incidence coinfection with Bordetella bronchiseptica, using genomic serological methods. Methods: In this study, 50 blood samples, eye respiratory swabs, gastrointestinal tract swabs were taken from dogs, which showed symptoms involvement, suggesting infection. Also, seemingly healthy dogs included study. The animals referred Isfahan clinics between spring 2018 winter 2019. For initial diagnosis by immunological methods, a rapid immunochromatography kit was used. To for genomes both pathogens, after DNA RNA extraction reverse transcription extracted PCR assay performed specific primers. Results: Based results RT-PCR assay, samples suspected infection, 37 positive presence nucleic acids, 20 B. bronchiseptica acids. three CDV, 15 Conclusions: 100 infection apparently (12 dogs). However, no significant relationship found infections. It seems future studies larger sample size can provide us more accurate results.

Molecular and Immunological Investigation of Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) and Its Co- Infection with Canine Parainfluenza Virus Type 2

Background and Objective: Canine distemper (CD) is a highly transmissible serious disease of carnivores. Distemper virus has immunosuppression effects, which, in turn, could lead to opportunistic infections. The present study was performed to detect CDV by the genomic and immunological methods and investigate its co- infection with canine parainfluenza virus type 2 (CPiV-2). Materials and Meth...

Molecular and Serological Detection of Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) in Rural Dogs, Iran

Background and Aims: Canine distemper (CD) is a deadly infectious disease of Canidae family. CD is a multi-systemic viral disease and is specified by wide range of clinical symptoms. The manifestations are not always indicative of CD, therefore a laboratory confirmation is necessary for suspected cases. Materials and Methods: Different clinical specimens of 19 CD suspected unvaccinated dogs wer...

Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) in Another Big Cat: Should CDV Be Renamed Carnivore Distemper Virus?

One of the greatest threats to the conservation of wild cat populations may be dogs or, at least, one of their viruses. Canine distemper virus (CDV), a single-stranded RNA virus in the Paramyxoviridae family and genus Morbillivirus, infects and causes disease in a variety of species, not just canids. An outbreak of CDV in wild lions in the Serengeti, Tanzania, in 1994 was a wake-up call for con...

Detection of Arctic and European cluster of canine distemper virus in north and center of Iran

Canine distemper virus (CDV) creates a very contagious viral multi-systemic canine distemper (CD) disease that affects most species of Carnivora order. The virus is genetically heterogeneous, particularly in section of the hemagglutinin (H) gene. Sequence analysis of the H gene can be useful to investigate distinction of various lineages related to geographical distribution and CDV molecular ep...
