Genome-Wide Expression Profile in People with Optic Neuritis Associated with Multiple Sclerosis

The aim of this study was to perform a genome-wide expression analysis whole-blood samples from people with optic neuritis (ON) and determine differentially expressed mRNAs compared healthy control subjects. included eight acute ON six Gene analyzed using DNA microarrays for whole-human-genome analysis, which contain 54,675 25-base pairs. additional biostatistical gene ontology set enrichment (GSEA). Quantitative RT-PCR (qPCR) used confirm selected genes. In total, 722 differently genes were identified, 377 exhibiting increased, 345 decreased, expression. GSEA revealed that protein phosphorylation intracellular compartment, apoptosis inhibition, pathways involved in cell cycles, T B functions, anti-inflammatory central nervous system (CNS) are implicated pathology. qPCR confirmed the differential genes, SLPI, CR3, ITGA4 statistically significant results. conclusion, showed differences profiles Additionally, regulation within CNS identified as important early phases MS.
