چکیده
The objectives of this study were to estimate genetic parameters for stayability in US organic Holstein dairy cows and correlations with nationally evaluated traits interest. Stayability is the binary trait success or failure remain herd until a given time point. We used birth, calving, cull dates from 16 USDA certified farms recommended by industry personnel as herds maintaining individual cow records using artificial insemination. at 5 points was assigned based on presence calving date each parity up (STAY1 STAY5). also considered livebirth (vs. stillbirth), successful first second (STAY12), third (STAY23), repeated measure encompassing STAY1 STAY5. In total, 44,995 females study. Ninety-six percent born alive these, 64% reached parity. Animals sires no other identified breed 3 generations maternal side included. Heritabilities underlying scale estimated threshold model fixed effect random effects animal herd-year-season birth. Genetic among livebirth, STAY1, STAY12, STAY23 4-trait linear birth animal, dam calf (livebirth), (STAY12 STAY23). ranged 0.07 0.15 0.08 direct 0.06 livebirth. repeatability 0.60. 0.11 between 0.83 STAY12 STAY23. Excluding all significantly correlated productive life livability. general, positively associated milk yield negatively fat stillbirth. conclusion, heritable longevity suggesting that improvement can be achieved current national evaluations longevity.

Genetic parameters for stayability in Murrah buffaloes.
In order to contribute to the breeding programmes of Asian water buffalo, the aim of this study was to analyse the influence of genetic effects in the stayability of Murrah dairy buffaloes. The stayability trait (ST) was defined as the female's ability to stay in the herd for one (ST1), two (ST2), three (ST3), four (ST4), five (ST5) or six years (ST6) after the first calving. The same trait was...
متن کاملEstimation of genetic parameters for somatic cell score in Holsteins.
Genetic parameters of somatic cell scores for Holstein cows were estimated using an animal model and REML for two data sets. Set 1, with 13,017 records from 5278 cows, was used to obtain variance components, heritability, and repeatability for two lactation measures: the simple average and the weighted average of test day data. Set 2, with 14,418 records from 4806 cows, was used to obtain genet...

Genetic parameters for stayability to six ages (ST1, . . ., ST6), for five measures of stayability to calving (SC2, . . ., SC6), and for five measures of stayability to weaning (SW2, . . ., SW6), were estimated using records of 2,019 Hereford cows collected from 1964 to 1979 from a selection experiment with a control line and three lines selected for weaning weight, yearling weight, and an inde...

The aim of this study was using Bayesian approach via Gibbs sampling (GS) for estimating genetic parameters of production, reproduction and health traits in Iranian Holstein cows. Data consisted of 320666 first- lactation records of Holstein cows from 7696 sires and 260302 dams collected by the animal breeding center of Iran from year 1991 to 2010. (Co) variance components were estimated using ...
متن کاملPatterns of genetic variation in US federal bison herds.
Like many wide-ranging mammals, American bison (Bison bison) have experienced significant range contraction over the past two centuries and are maintained in artificially isolated populations. A basic understanding of the distribution of genetic variation among populations is necessary to facilitate long-term germplasm preservation and species conservation. The 11 herds maintained within the US...
