Genetic parameters and genetic trends of conformation and management traits in Dairy Gir cattle

چکیده

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to estimate genetic parameters and trends different conformation management traits regularly measured within the context National Dairy Gir Breeding Program (PNMGL). estimation residual variances for each trait performed using average information restricted maximum likelihood (AI-REML) procedure in AIREMLF90 program software. population divided into three subpopulations constituted by females (with phenotype records), all females, males. Linear regressions were applied trait, considering two periods birth (1st period: 1938-1996; 2nd 1997-2012). estimated heritability varied from 0.01 0.53, denoting a perspective improvement through selection corrective matings purebred populations. changes were, general, variable inexpressive, showing that may have had been directed essentially increase milk yield. analysis indicated some linear present progress (although inexpressive) period (more recent period).

Genetic and Phenotypic Trends of Productive and Reproductive Traits in Iranian Holstein Dairy Cattle of Isfahan Province

Productive and reproductive traits have great importance in international dairy cattle breeding objectives. Production, reproduction (days open and calving interval) and pedigree data of Iranian Holstein dairy cattles were collected between 2002 and 2012 from 47 herds in Isfahan province. The data set consisted of 30179 records from 18837 registered IranianHolstein dairy cattles. Single trait r...

Estimates of genetic parameters and genetic trends for reproductive traits and weaning weight in Tabapuã cattle.

The Tabapuã breed is a beef cattle Brazilian breed known for its sexual precocity and desirable characteristics for tropical conditions. However, this is a newly formed breed and few studies have been conducted regarding genetic parameters and genetic trends for its reproductive traits. The objective of the present study was to estimate the genetic parameters, genetic trends, and relative selec...

Estimation of genetic parameters for production traits and somatic cell score in Iranian Holstein dairy cattle using random regression model

In this study test-day records of milk (kg), fat (g), and protein (g) yields, somatic cell score (SCS, cells/ML) collected by Animal Breeding Center of Iran during 2007 and 2009 were used to estimate genetic parameters using random regression model. Models with different order of Legendre polynomials were compared using Bayesian information criterion (BIC).For milk, fat yield and SCS genetic an...

Genetic Study of Dairy Cattle and Buffalo Bulls Based on Growth, Milk Production and Reproductive Traits

The present investigation aimed to conduct a genetic study of dairy cattle and buffalo bulls based on economic traits and their phenotypic correlation. The means of various economic traits in both the species are presented. Cattle bulls reported a better libido score, Flehmen response, requirement of mounting stimulus and semen volume, conception rate and expected predicted difference for milk ...
