Genetic diversity of Loma acerinae (Microsporidia: Glugeida) from different fish hosts and localities – Short communication

چکیده

Abstract Loma acerinae is a xenoma-forming fish microsporidium described from common ruffe Gymnocephalus cernua (Perciformes: Percidae) and also found in Ponto-Caspian gobies (Gobiiformes: Gobiidae). This casts doubt on the strict host specificity of this parasite. The largest subunit RNA polymerase II ( rpb1 ) was used as genetic marker parasite isolated six species Perciformes G. Baltic Sea) , Atheriniformes Atherina boyeri Azov Gobiiformes Neogobius spp. Zosterisessor ophiocephalus Black Sea Ponticola kessleri Caspian basin) . Two major haplogroups were with 98.5% identity between groups. Notably, Haplogroup I associated samples n = 6) only, whereas included other 7). These findings confirm broad distribution range L. but indicate that certain patterns host-driven intraspecific polymorphism may exist. Furthermore, study revealed low similarity ribosomal gene sequences type species, morhua (as well genus). suggests loose association within genus, raise need for taxonomic revision

Genetic diversity of Actinobacillus lignieresii isolates from different hosts

Genetic diversity detected by analysis of amplified fragment length polymorphisms (AFLPs) of 54 Actinobacillus lignieresii isolates from different hosts and geographic localities is described. On the basis of variances in AFLP profiles, the strains were grouped in two major clusters; one comprising strains isolated from horses and infected wounds of humans bitten by horses and another consistin...

Phenotypic and genetic diversity of motile aeromonads isolated from diseased fish and fish farms

Samples from the kidney of 100 diseased fish with signs of haemorrhagic septicemia and 50 samples from outlet water of fish farms were taken aseptically and cultured. In the laboratory, 75 colonies of gram-negative bacteria were biochemically diagnosed as motile aeromonads in our Bacteriology Laboratory Unit using API 20E rapid identification system. The genotype identification using specific p...

Modes of transmission of Loma salmonae (Microsporidia).

Loma salmonae (Putz, Hoffman and Dunbar, 1965) Morrison and Sprague, 1981 (Microsporidia) causes prominent gill disease in pen-reared chinook salmon Oncorhynchus tshawytscha in the Pacific Northwest. Transmission of the parasite was examined by exposing Pacific salmon Oncorhynchus spp. to infectious spores by various routes: per os, intraperitoneal, intramuscular, and intravascular injection, b...

Genetic diversity of Spiroplasma citri strains from different regions, hosts, and isolation dates.

Spiroplasma citri, a phloem-limited pathogen, causes citrus stubborn disease (CSD). Losses due to CSD in California orchards have grown over the past decade. To investigate the possibility of introduction or emergence of a new strain, a study of genetic diversity among S. citri strains from various locations was conducted using random amplified polymorphism DNA-polymerase chain reaction (RAPD-P...
