Genetic Diversity in Populations of Mediterranean Fruit Flies in North-Eastern Brazil

چکیده
This study aimed at determining the population genetic structure of Mediterranean fruit flies (Ceratitis capitata) in North-eastern Brazil, so as to improve our understanding viability inter-simple sequences repeat (ISSR) markers Brazilian populations, along with inferences on composition which can be used management programs. For this, ISSR were groups collected from four municipalities this region. Primers polymorphic, revealing moderate expected heterozigosity, 80% variation occurring within populations and structure. Bayesian analysis revealed K = 3, consistent pairwise FST indicating low between Barra do Choça Planalto, Caraíbas Planalto. Data indicated high diversity, suggesting two interpretations: analyzed arose a single are now under structuring processes, or had different origins, but currently connected by gene flow. Thus, primers affective obtaining information about C. capitata evidenced polymorphism separation grouping according their allelic compositions. Furthermore, paper provides useful for flow region developing regional strategies control species.

Genetic elimination of field-cage populations of Mediterranean fruit flies
The Mediterranean fruit fly (medfly, Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann) is a pest of over 300 fruits, vegetables and nuts. The sterile insect technique (SIT) is a control measure used to reduce the reproductive potential of populations through the mass release of sterilized male insects that mate with wild females. However, SIT flies can display poor field performance, due to the effects of mass-rea...

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...
Genetic diversity in yellow passion fruit populations
The genetic diversity in yellow passion fruit genotypes from populations of different origins (Campos dos Goytacazes, Itaperuna and São Francisco de Itabapoana , Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil), was quantified. The following traits were evaluated in two environments (Macaé and Campos dos Goytacazes): fruit weight, mean number of fruits, fruit length, equatorial fruit diameter, rind thickness, bri...
متن کاملAcoustic Trap for Female Mediterranean Fruit Flies
Medflies (Ceratitis capitata) are among the world’s most economically harmful pests. In addition, the costs of worldwide monitoring and control are expensive, exceeding $800 million per year in Israel and the U.S. alone. Efficient traps are vitally important tools for medfly quarantine and pest management activities. They are needed for control as well as early detection, for predicting dispers...

Speckled shrimp (Metapenaeus monoceros), is a commercially important prawn in the embayments and estuaries of the Mediterranean Sea. It is originally a Lessepsian species which had migrated from the Red Sea into the Mediterranean Sea through the Suez Canal. This study was carried out in the North-eastern Mediterranean Sea between November 2009 and October 2010 with monthly sampling of speckled ...
