چکیده
Puya raimondii is an endemic species from the high Andes of Peru and Bolivia. In it distributed 8.068501°S, 16.170280°W to 16.180580°S, 70.658873°W, between 3600 4800 m, living in extreme climatic conditions typical Puna, where plays important ecological role. Despite wide distribution P. populations Peru, they appear be fairly uniform morphologically. The following questions arise: Will current molecular tools able show differences numerous populations? Are conservation areas established for sufficient since harbor existing variability? To answer these questions, this work aimed evaluate genetic diversity structure a northern population, Pachapaqui (Ancash department), central Yanacancha (Junin), southern Lampa - Choconchaca sector (Puno), using microsatellite markers (SSR) specific species. parameters used included number alleles (A), exclusive (RA), observed heterozygosity (Ho), expected (He), polymorphic content index (PIC). results showed that total A varied 2 13, He values were 0 ‒ 0.723 Ho 0.929, with average 0.217, indicating moderate diversity, being population Lampa-Choconchaca sector, one presented greatest allelic diversity. Hardy-Weinberg test are HW disequilibrium, statistical analysis indicates 65% variation at level FST (0.426) RST (0.650) indicate differentiation among populations, two groups (K=2) correspond northern-central Peru. provide useful information establish strategies raimondii, which lead creation additional area protect

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...
Reduced genetic diversity in endemic Brazilian Lymania spp (Bromeliaceae) populations and implications for conservation.
We analyzed the genetic diversity of populations of two sympatric species of Lymania (Bromeliaceae), both endemic to the Atlantic rainforest of southern Bahia (Brazil). Lymania azurea has a restricted occurrence, while Lymania smithii has a wider distribution. Our aim was to provide genetic data to contribute to the design of more efficient conservation strategies for these bromeliads, possibly...

Population genetic structure of traditional populations in the Peruvian Central Andes and implications for South American population history.
Molecular-based characterizations of Andean peoples are traditionally conducted in the service of elucidating continent-level evolutionary processes in South America. Consequently, genetic variation among "western" Andean populations is often represented in relation to variation among "eastern" Amazon and Orinoco River Basin populations. This west-east contrast in patterns of population genetic...
