Genetic differences as estimators of osmotic adjustment and source-sink balance in grapevine hybrid elites

This study deals with the best responses of a diverse collection grapevine genotypes to osmotic stress associated source-sink balance given by an estimator such as leaf area fruit ratio. ‘Centennial Seedless’, drought tolerant cultivar, was selected control. The cultivars, ‘Victoria’ and ‘Argessis’, were chosen repetition from previous research dealing pollen grain test, two years ago. Ten hybrid elites in first second generations. Three cultivars ‘Victoria’, ‘Argessis’ grown under field conditions containers, soil greenhouse conditions. Significant differences found between for both balance. Seedless’ ‘BP9’ showed induced adjustment; results confirmed compensatory potassium uptake theory. had almost same average values adjustment. ‘HR7’ increase cell, after application polyethylene glycol solutions without cation lower ratio, which could be higher photosynthesis rates. No correlations identified mechanisms expressed analyzed estimators, indicating that they are activated functional separately each other, sometimes only compensatory.
