Generation and Transmission of Action Potential in Nerve Cells and Neuron Populations Based on the Realistic Hodgkin-Huxley Neuron Model

چکیده

There are several types of nerve cells in the central nervous system. Thanks to synaptic connections, these form large and complicated networks. However, have a stereotypical electrical activity called action potential (AP) or spike. In this work, mechanisms formation typical signal methods transferring from one cell another were investigated using Hodgkin-Huxley neuron model simulations. It has been seen that AP is based on principle "all nothing" ion channel dynamics critical AP. shown transduction between transmitted by post-synaptic signals may be depolarizing polarizing. Finally, it discussed activities quantities can measured at micro macro levels, various used for purpose.

A new circuit model for the Parameters in equations of low power Hodgkin-Huxley neuron cell

In this paper, α and β parameters and gating variables equations of Hodgkin-Huxley neuron cell have been studied. Gating variables show opening and closing rate of ion flow of calcium and potassium in neuron cell. Variable functions α and β, are exponential functions in terms of u potential that have been obtained by Hodgkin and Huxley experimentally to adjust the equations of neural cells. In ...

Understanding the Action Potential Generation in the Hodgkin-Huxley model

The generation and the propagation of electrical signals in the basic unit of nervous system “neuron” has been a topic of interest to physiologists and researchers for centuries. In this effort of trying to map the functions of the brain the work of Hodgkin and Huxley has been a remarkable legacy. 60 years have passed since they have published their paper, still it continues to inspire research...

Memristor Bridge Synapse Application for Integrate and Fire and Hodgkin-Huxley Neuron Cell

Memory resistor or memristor is already fabricated successfully using current nano dimension technology. Based on its unique hysteresis, the amount of resistance remains constant over time, controlled by the time, the amplitude, and the polarity of the applied voltage. The unique hysteretic current-voltage characteristic in the memristor causes this element to act as a non-volatile resistive me...

Dynamical Characteristics of a Hodgkin-Huxley neuron

By means of the concepts of factorial moment, return map and NM estimator, we analyze some responses of a HH neuron to various types of spike-train inputs. The corresponding fractal dimensions and values of NM estimators can describe the correlation characteristics quantitatively. It is found that all the intervals of successive output spikes may obey a power-law for some conditions. And in tim...

FPGA implementation of a biological neural network based on the Hodgkin-Huxley neuron model

A set of techniques for efficient implementation of Hodgkin-Huxley-based (H-H) model of a neural network on FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) is presented. The central implementation challenge is H-H model complexity that puts limits on the network size and on the execution speed. However, basics of the original model cannot be compromised when effect of synaptic specifications on the networ...
