Asymmetric Univariate and Bivariate Laplace and Generalized Laplace Distributions
Alternative specifications of univariate asymmetric Laplace models are described and investigated. A more general mixture model is then introduced. Bivariate extensions of these models are discussed in some detail, with particular emphasis on associated parameter estimation strategies. Multivariate versions of the models are briefly introduced.
متن کاملLaplace Asymptotic Expansions for Gaussian Functional Integrals
We obtain a Laplace asymptotic expansion, in orders of λ, of Eρx { G(λx)e −2F (λx)} } the expectation being with respect to a Gaussian process. We extend a result of Pincus [9] and build upon the previous work of Davies and Truman [1, 2, 3, 4]. Our methods differ from those of Ellis and Rosen [6, 7, 8] in that we use the supremum norm to simplify the application of the result. A.M.S. Classifica...
متن کاملLaplace Transforms for Integrals of Markov Processes
Laplace transforms for integrals of stochastic processes have been known in analytically closed form for just a handful of Markov processes: namely, the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck, the Cox-Ingerssol-Ross (CIR) process and the exponential of Brownian motion. In virtue of their analytical tractability, these processes are extensively used in modelling applications. In this paper, we construct broad exten...
متن کاملApplications of The Normal Laplace and Generalized Normal Laplace Distributions
Two parametric models for income and financial return distributions are presented. There are the four-parameter normal Laplace (NL) and the five-parameter generalized normal Laplace (GNL) distributions. Their properties are discussed; furthermore, estimation of the parameters by the method of moments and maximum likelihood is presented. The performances of fitting the two models to nine empiric...

in which a and b are continuously differentiate functions of two variables, fix) a continuously difierentiable function. The routine estimate of fadb gives bounds depending either on /| d/(x) | or on the maximum of | df/dx\ in the interval of integration. It is, however, possible, as shown in Theorem 1, to give a bound that is entirely independent'of the derivative of fix), and, consequently, t...
