Generalizations of Diagonal Dominance in Matrix Theory
A matrix A ∈ C is called generalized diagonally dominant or, more commonly, an H−matrix if there is a positive vector x = (x1, · · · , xn) such that |aii|xi > ∑ j 6=i |aij|xj, i = 1, 2, · · · , n. In this thesis, we first give an efficient iterative algorithm to calculate the vector x for a given H-matrix, and show that this algorithm can be used effectively as a criterion for H-matrices. When ...
متن کاملSimultaneous generalizations of known fixed point theorems for a Meir-Keeler type condition with applications
In this paper, we first establish a new fixed point theorem for a Meir-Keeler type condition. As an application, we derive a simultaneous generalization of Banach contraction principle, Kannan's fixed point theorem, Chatterjea's fixed point theorem and other fixed point theorems. Some new fixed point theorems are also obtained.

Derivative of Rotation Matrix Direct Matrix Derivation of Well Known Formula
In motion Kinematics, it is well-known that the time derivative of a 3 × 3 rotation matrix equals a skew-symmetric matrix multiplied by the rotation matrix where the skew symmetric matrix is a linear (matrix-valued) function of the angular velocity and the rotation matrix represents the rotating motion of a frame with respect to a reference frame. The equation is widely used in engineering, e.g...
متن کاملGeneralizations of a Result on Symmetry Groups of Attractors
The admissible symmetry groups of attractors for continuous equivariant mappings were classified in Ashwin and Melbourne [1994] and Melbourne, Dellnitz and Golubitsky [1993]. We consider extensions of these results to include attractors in fixed-point subspaces, attractors for equivariant diffeomorphisms and flows, and attractors in the presence of a continuous symmetry group. Our results lead ...
