Gender differences in values among representatives of the millennial generation

This article examines gender differences in basic individual values among representatives of the millennial generation and older generations. Values are stable characteristics a person that determine goals, judgments, actions, behavior. The structure depends on various factors, such as age, gender, social status, education, etc. Generational influencing formation particular interest. main focus work is aimed at studying millennials, who now make up most active part population. In total, study involved 949 people, 528 women 421 men aged 18 to 70 years. respondents were divided into 3 groups according years their birth: stagnation (315 46 % women), reform (310 61 millennials (324 59 women). Portrait Questionnaire by S. Schwartz was used assess personal values. questionnaire reveals 10 values: Security, Conformity, Tradition, Self-Direction, Stimulation, Hedonism, Achievement, Power, Benevolence, Universalism. results include identified group Power. Men (who grew 1990s) have significantly higher preference Stimulation than stagnation. Achievement same value regardless age our society. general, compared generations, young prefer Self-Enhancement Openness Change opposed Conservation Self-Transcendence.
