Gastroschisis in Brazil within a Global Context

Introduction: global disparity in outcomes of gastroschisis is visible. Survival rates high-income countries have improved since 1960, and are currently around 100%, due to progress pediatric surgery neonatal intensive care. However, low- middle-income mortality can reach all cases. Objective: this study aims map the existing literature on Brazil within a context. Methods: scoping Review. PubMed, Scielo Brazil, Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) Google Scholar, were searched from January 2000 May 2020. Results: eight studies met inclusion criteria. The consolidated data 912 patients were: Mean maternal age 20.7 years, antenatal diagnosis rate 80.2%, cesarean section 77.7%. hospital stay 40.8 days. 25.3 %. Risk factors associated with death prematurity, low birth weight, APGAR score, reinterventions, sepsis, birth-to-surgery interval greater than 4 hours, fewer prenatal visits, delayed diagnosis. Conclusion: scarce, most carried out southeast country.
