Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors: Recurrence and Survival Analysis of 49 Patients

چکیده

Background: Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal tumor originating from gastrointestinal tract and have a broad spectrum of clinicopathological features affecting disease management regarding treatment modalities. Methods: A retrospective study 49 patients who underwent surgery for between 2008 2016 was conducted. Clinical, pathological, immunohistochemical with without recurrence were statistically analyzed. Results: Twenty-nine (59.1%) had gastric; 16 (32.6%) small intestinal; 3 (6.1%) mesenteric; 1 (2.2%) rectal GISTs. Microscopic necrosis ulceration also significant (P = 0.005, P 0.049). High-risk according to Miettinen’s risk classification more likely develop < 0.001). Additionally, high-grade factor Ki-67 levels available in 40 mean level 16.8 recurrence, which regression analysis (HR: 1.24, 95%, CI: 1.08-1-43). Five-year disease-free survival rates non-gastric gastric GISTs 62.3% 90%, respectively 0.044).Conclusion: Larger higher mitotic recurrence. High associated

Histological and Immunological Evaluation of Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors

Background: Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) constitute the majority of gastrointestinal mesenchymal tumors. They usually express a proto-oncogen protein called CD117 detected by immunohistochemistry. This study investigated the differentiation of GISTs as well as the risk of aggressive behaviors in GISTs from surgically-treated patients in university affiliated hospitals. Methods: The c...

Epidemiology, survival, and costs of localized gastrointestinal stromal tumors

PURPOSE The aim of this study is to examine the epidemiologic and economic burden in surgically resected localized gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) patients versus age- and gender-matched controls. METHOD Two data sources were used to conduct a series of complementary analyses. First, the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) cancer registry was used to identify diagnosed GI...

Pediatric gastrointestinal stromal tumors.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) rarely occur in pediatric patients, but increased recognition of adult GIST has led to better awareness of the existence of this entity in the pediatric population. GIST occurring in pediatric patients has a unique biology and clinical behavior and warrants discussion as an independent entity. The generally accepted definition of pediatric GIST is a tumor...

Imaging gastrointestinal stromal tumors.

BACKGROUND Because of the recent reclassification of mesenchymal tumors, which was based on a better understanding of the genetics and immunophenotype of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), only a limited number of studies have described the radiologic appearance of GISTs. METHODS This study reviews the imaging characteristics of GISTs, with an emphasis on differentiating benign and mali...

Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors

Background: Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract. A relationship to the interstitial cells of Cajal (ICCs) has been proposed, and expression of CD117, the c-kit receptor present in ICCs, has been suggested as a marker for GISTs. Methods: The English literature has been reviewed with an emphasis on histogenetic features, esp...
