Gastric pneumatosis in a preterm infant: A case report

Background: Gastric pneumatosis is a rare condition characterized by the presence of intramural gas in stomach wall. It uncommon infants and usually caused proximal intestinal obstruction or necrotizing enterocolitis, serious typically seen preterm babies. Case Presentation: An extremely baby born at 23 weeks gestation weighing 640 grams, with bronchopulmonary dysplasia other comorbidities like patent ductus arteriosus, staph aureus sepsis, developed abdominal distension non-bilious vomiting 4 months age. X-ray abdomen revealed gastric pneumatosis. The was managed conservative measures. Conclusion: secondary to enterocolitis needs prompt evaluation management prevent further deterioration.
