چکیده
Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) is an important cultivar of the Citrus genus which contains a number nutrients beneficial to human health. peels are usually thrown away in this part Nigeria. The research work investigated bioactive components present indigenous citrus peel, grape paradisi). Grape fruits were purchased from garden market D-Line, Port-Harcourt metropolis and washed with ionized water allowed shade dry. peel separated subjected cold extraction using 95% ethanol. extracts obtained further extracted dichloromethane GC/MS analysis for characterization various components. gas chromatographic model: 789A (GC) was performed on agilent technologies interfaced mass selective detector 5975(MSD). results revealed 25 n-Hexadecanoic acid showing highest concentration 20.36% retention time 18.522min. Nootkatone lowest component 0.74% 16.459min. Results shows that grapefruit has considerable potential as source natural different times. These residues otherwise regarded waste hold promising potentials medicinal therapy value added food supplements.
