Fused Deposition Modeling of Single-Use Plastic Alloy

Packaging plastics are called ‘single-use plastics’ because of short lifetime. Among which, the three polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and terephthalate (PET) take more than 70%. Due to incompatibility, few research has been done on alloy plastics. The aim this study is investigate possibility single-use plastic (SUPA) ternary PE, PP, PET as 3D printing material. Tensile bending tests carried out mechanical properties, photographs scanning electron microscope (SEM) taken for morphology analysis, differential calorimetry (DSC) used crystallization behavior alloys. results show that there an optimal ratio all components obtain best performances, i.e., PP / PE = 40 60 with 20 wt% PET, 2 maleic anhydride grafted (PP-g-MAH) organic modified montmorillonite (OMMT). This SUPA a tensile strength 14.48 MPa, modulus 586.42 flexural 15.85 544.67 MPa. function compatibilizer nanoclay (NC) will be affected by redundancy, potential primary fibrosis while collecting feeding filaments secondary at nozzle might responsible variation performances.
