چکیده
Calcium phosphate cements (CPCs) are attractive synthetic bone grafts as they possess osteoconductive and osteoinductive properties. Their biomimetic synthesis grants them an intrinsic nano- microporosity that resembles natural is paramount for biological processes such protein adhesion, which can later enhance cell adhesion. However, a main limitation of CPCs the lack macroporosity, crucial to allow colonization throughout scaffold. Moreover, specific motifs guide interactions through their membrane proteins. In this study, we explore strategy targeting simultaneously both macroporosity binding within by use recombinant silk. A silk functionalized with motif RGD serves foaming template achieve hydroxyapatite (HA) scaffolds multiscale porosity. The synergies RGD-motifs in macroporous features HA explored potential mesenchymal stem proliferation, migration differentiation. Macroporous Silk-HA improve initial adhesion compared absence silk, importantly, presence greatly enhances into Additionally, proliferation osteogenic differentiation achieved scaffolds.

hTERT promotes cell adhesion and migration independent of telomerase activity.
hTERT, a catalytic component of human telomerase, is undetectable in normal somatic cells but up-regulated in cancer and stem cells where telomere length is maintained by telomerase. Accumulated evidence indicates that hTERT may have noncanonical functions beyond telomerase by regulating the expression of particular genes. However, comprehensive identification of the genes regulated by hTERT is...
متن کاملCalcium-sensing receptor modulates cell adhesion and migration via integrins.
The calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) is a family C G protein-coupled receptor that is activated by elevated levels of extracellular divalent cations. The CaSR couples to members of the G(q) family of G proteins, and in the endocrine system this receptor is instrumental in regulating the release of parathyroid hormone from the parathyroid gland and calcitonin from thyroid cells. Here, we demonstr...
متن کاملIn vitro biodegradation of three brushite calcium phosphate cements by a macrophage cell-line.
Depending upon local conditions, brushite (CaHPO4 x 2 H2O) cements may be largely resorbed or (following hydrolysis to hydroxyapatite) remain stable in vivo. To determine which factors influence cement resorption, previous studies have investigated the solution-driven degradation of brushite cements in vitro in the absence of any cells. However, the mechanism of cell-mediated biodegradation of ...
متن کاملAdhesion in cell migration.
Adhesive interactions play a central role in cell migration. The regulation of these interactions requires the coordination of a multiplicity of signals, both spatially and temporally. The role of the integrin family has received considerable recent attention. Progress has been made in the elucidation of the mechanisms by which growth factors and other motogenic factors stimulate migration. Maj...
متن کاملN-cadherin-mediated cell-cell adhesion promotes cell migration in a three-dimensional matrix.
Cancer cells that originate from epithelial tissues typically lose epithelial specific cell-cell junctions, but these transformed cells are not devoid of cell-cell adhesion proteins. Using hepatocyte-growth-factor-treated MDCK cells that underwent a complete epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition, we analyzed cell-cell adhesion between these highly invasive transformed epithelial cells in a three...
