چکیده

Introduction: Intertrochanteric fractures are the most common geriatric associated with osteoporosis requiring surgical intervention. For fixation of these fractures, use an intramedullary nail coupled a dynamic femoral head/neck stabilisation implant. Many classes nails incorporating single compression screw, extramedullary device, or screw anti-rotation like proximal have become famous for treating unstable fractures. In this study, we studied outcome PFNA2 devices. Material and Methods: This is prospective cohort study IT fragility fracture femur treated PFN A2. All successive patients diagnosed intertrochanteric Boyd Griffin type 2, 3 4 femur. Results: We found that average RUSH score at end 6 months was 23.8, functional outcomes were assessed HHS excellent in 20 cases, good fair 2. Complications varus angulation infection, one each. Conclusion: A2 has 1 year.

Treatment of osteoporotic intertrochanteric fractures by zoledronic acid injection combined with proximal femoral nail anti-rotation

OBJECTIVE To observe the clinical results of proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) combined with zoledronic acid injection in the treatment of osteoporotic intertrochanteric fractures in the elderly. METHODS 60 elderly patients with osteoporotic intertrochanteric fractures were diagnosed using a dual energy X-ray bone density instrument. Patients were randomly divided into treatment or c...

Efficacy of femoral nail anti-rotation of helical blade in unstable intertrochanteric fracture.

OBJECTIVE We analyzed the comparative efficacy and long-term prognosis with proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) and dynamic hip screw (DHS) for the treatment of unstable intertrochanteric fractures, retrospectively. We determined the independent risk factors to guide subsequent surgery and improve the long-term quality of life. PATIENTS AND METHODS We selected 165 patients suffering fr...

Subcapital femoral neck fracture after fixation of an intertrochanteric fracture with a proximal femoral nail: a report of two cases.

Subcapital femoral neck fractures are a rare complication after fixation of an intertrochanteric fracture with a proximal femoral nail. We report 2 such cases where the patients had severe osteoporosis, based on Singh's index and pathological findings. In one case there was a technical error leading to a tip-apex distance of more than 20 mm, but osteoporosis appeared to be a more significant ca...

A Study of twenty consecutive case of unstable Intertrochanteric fracture treated with long Proximal Femoral Nail: A Clinical outcome

Intertrochanteric fractures are injuries that affect both the elderly and young individuals. In young individuals injury results from high energy trauma and in elderly individuals usually fractures are 1 of osteoporotic bone ,resulting from trivial trauma. Intertrochanteric fractures are more common in elderly females. Elderly people with low bone mineral density are prone for 2 unstable fractu...

Percutaneous compression plate versus proximal femoral nail anti-rotation in treating elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures: a prospective randomized study

BACKGROUND The treatment and management of hip fracture poses a great challenge for clinicians in osteology and surgery. The aim of this study is to compare the clinical effectiveness of the percutaneous compression plate (PCCP) versus proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) in the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures in elderly patients. METHODS A prospective randomized study was carr...
