چکیده

Background: Although femoral neck fractures are common in elderly individuals, it is an uncommon occurrence young patients. It crucial to achieve anatomical reduction as well stable fixation so avoid complications individuals who expected have considerable functional demand post-surgical period. Dynamic hip screws commonly used for internal of these fractures. satisfactory outcomes been reported the patients treated by DHS, such malunion and osteonecrosis remain area concern. Aims Objectives: The aims study were outcome with DHS CC screws. Materials Methods: This was a prospective cohort which 80 adults (below age 45 years) having 2CC included this on basis predefined inclusion exclusion criteria. Gender distribution, nature injury, type fracture, outcome, studied cases. Open done using dynamic screw. assessed modified Harris score. All non-union, malunion, osteonecrosis. Statistical analysis SSPS 21.0 software P<0.05 taken statistically significant. Results: Out cases fractures, there 54 (67.50%) males 26 (32.50%) females M: F ratio 1:0.48. mean male female found be 38.37±4.62 38.80±4.97 years, respectively. most frequent cause fracture fall from height (48 cases) followed road traffic accident (31 cases). Forty-six had complete partial displacement (Type III) remaining 34 total IV). Associated injuries seen 9 (11.25%) Nine avascular necrosis head our study. Surgery more than 48 h after injury associated increased risk (P<0.05). Conclusion: Femoral excellent results majority can minimized decreased time duration between surgical intervention.

Comparing Therapeutic Outcomes of Dynamic Hip Screw and Multiple Cannulated Screws as Internal Fixation in Femoral Neck Fractures

Background and purpose: Femoral neck fracture is associated with a high rate of side effects, especially in young people, who are usually affected by severe energy shocks. Results after injury depend on some factors, including displacement, fragility, bleeding rate, proper placement, and stable and strong fixation. The aim of this study was to compare dynamic hip screw (DHS) or multiple cannula...

Dynamic Hip Screw for the Treatment of Femoral Neck Fractures: A Prospective Study with 96 Patients

UNLABELLED Objectives. To study the correlation between avascular necrosis and the demographics, time elapsed from fracture to surgery, quality of reduction, Garden classification, and the position of the screw following use of the dynamic hip screw (DHS) in the treatment of subcapital neck fractures. Methods. A prospective study of 96 patients with subcapital neck fractures was carried out in ...

Addition of an anti-rotation screw to the dynamic hip screw for femoral neck fractures.

The authors investigated the use of an anti-rotation screw with the dynamic hip screw (DHS) during internal fixation of Garden I and II femoral neck fractures. Sixty-five patients with Garden I and II femoral neck fractures (mean age, 70 years) were treated with internal fixation at the authors' institution. In 31 patients, a 2-hole DHS was used alone (group 1), and in 34 patients, the DHS was ...

Type II Intertrochanteric Fractures: Proximal Femoral Nailing (PFN) Versus Dynamic Hip Screw(DHS)

Background: Intertrochanteric fracture is one of the most common fractures of the hip especially in the elderly with osteoporotic bones, usually due to low-energy trauma like simple falls. Dynamic Hip Screw (DHS) is still considered the gold standard for treating intertrochanteric fractures by many. Not many studies compare the DHS with Proximal femoral nail (PFN), in Type II intertrochanteri...

Prediction of Reoperation of Femoral Neck Fractures Treated With Cannulated Screws in Elderly Patients

BACKGROUND Reoperation of femoral neck fractures in elderly patients is frequent. Our aim was to determine predictors of reoperations following primary internal fixation with 3 cannulated screws. MATERIALS AND METHODS A follow-up study included all patients aged 65+ years old patients consecutively admitted to an orthopedic ward with femoral neck fracture in the period from January 1, 2007, t...
