Functional outcome of bone patellar tendon bone graft in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction
نویسندگان
چکیده
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear is the commonest ligamentous injury to knee joint. Various surgical methods have been described for anterior reconstruction with different kinds of grafts which own merits and demerits. Bone patellar tendon bone commonly used autograft ACL reconstruction.Aim this study was analyse functional outcome following arthroscopic using Bone- -bone graft (BTB)
Materials methods: This a prospective 32 patients awith average age 27 years (range: 19-51 years) between 2017 2019. Patients were treated by arthroscpically bone- tendon- graft. Appropriate post-operative care & physiotherapy given. The evaluation done at 3 month, 6month 1year follow up. Based on clinical test we evaluate stability joint normal function. We also usedTegner Lysholm score VAS results.
Results: 93 % had or near function clinically.88% excellent as per Tegner lysholmknee scoring system. out patient no pain end 1 year. The complications observed (10%), numbness over donor site (8%).
Conclusion: bone-patellar tendon-bone method can provide very good based objective subjective assessments .Early return daily activities possible improving function.

Patellar tendon ossification after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using bone – patellar tendon – bone autograft
BACKGROUND Among the various complications described in literature, the patellar tendon ossification is an uncommon occurrence in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction using bone - patellar tendon - bone graft (BPTB). The heterotopic ossification is linked to knee traumatism, intramedullary nailing of the tibia and after partial patellectomy, but only two cases of this event linked to...
متن کاملMR Imaging Findings of Patellar Tendon after Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction with Bone-Tendon-Bone Autograft
reconstruction by means of bone-patellar-bone (BTB) autografting is an increasingly popular procedure for the stabillization of ACL-deficient knee (1, 2). The central one-third of the patellar tendon and bony plugs are excised together to increase strength, durability and elasticity (3, 4) and the donor site is allowed to heal by primary intensification. The outcome of ACL reconstruction, using...
متن کاملImmediate post-operative pain in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery with bone patellar tendon bone graft versus hamstring graft
BACKGROUND Pain in the immediate post-operative period after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery, apart from an unpleasant experience for the patient, can act as a barrier for static quadriceps contractions and optimum execution of the initial rehabilitation protocol resulting in slow recovery and a later return to full function for a sportsperson. There is no report in the literature comp...
متن کامل“Quadruple hamstring tendon graft versus Bone-Patellar- Tendon-Graft for arthroscopic Anterior Cruciate Ligament
Introduction: Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear is the most common ligamentous injury to the knee joint. Two most commonly used grafts for reconstruction are Quadruple Hamstring tendons (QHT) and Bone Patellar Tendon Bone (BPTB) graft. Graft fixation techniques vary with different surgeons. Aim of this study was to compare the clinical outcome of reconstruction of ACL using QHT and BPTB gra...
متن کاملPrevention of graft-tunnel mismatch during anatomical anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using a bone-patellar tendon-bone graft.
Graft-tunnel mismatch of the bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB) graft is a major concern during anatomical anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction if the femoral tunnel is positioned using a far medial portal technique, as the femoral tunnel tends to be shorter compared with that positioned using a transtibial portal technique. This study describes an accurate method of calculating the id...
