Fully Probe-Corrected Near-Field Far-Field Transformations with Unknown Probe Antennas

چکیده

According to the electromagnetic uniqueness theorem, radiation behavior of an antenna under test (AUT) can be recovered from measurements two tangential components its radiated fields on enclosing surface. In practice, conducted in radiating near-field (NF) AUT utilize probe antennas finite size. Thus, instead discrete field values, spatially blurred signals are acquired. The influence compensated, however, this commonly requires precise knowledge about antenna. work, concept NF far-field (FF) transformations (NFFFTs) with full correction unknown is introduced. Two nonconvex and convex formulations presented their relation similar task phase retrieval highlighted. Simulation measurement results illustrate validity concept, shed light required complexity setups, limitations approach. Special attention paid case high practical relevance when identical.

The Unified Theory of Near-field–far-field Transformations with Spiral Scannings for Nonspherical Antennas

The unified theory of near-field–far-field transformations with spiral scannings for quasi-spherical antennas is extended in this paper to the case of nonspherical ones, i.e., antennas with two dimensions very different from the third one. To this end, these antennas are no longer considered as enclosed in a sphere, but in a proper convex domain bounded by a rotational surface. The extension, h...

Near-field microscope probe for far infrared time domain measurements

A near-field probe fabrication technique for far-infrared frequencies based on photoconducting antennas is developed. A subwavelength-size field source is accomplished by means of an aperture and protruding high refractive index tip. The near-field probe is tested by using free space traveling electromagnetic pulses with a broadband spectrum in the range of 0.3–1.5 THz. A spatial resolution of ...

Near-field scanning optical microscope probe analysis.

In this article results of a comparison of two NSOM probe characterization methods are presented. Scanning electron microscopy analysis combined with electromagnetic field modeling using the finite difference in time domain method are compared with measured far-field radiation diagrams of NSOM probes. It is shown that measurement of far-field radiation diagrams can be an efficient tool for dail...

Design and fabrication of a high-Q near-field probe for subsurface crack detection

Non-destructive detection and evaluation of invisible cracks in metal structures is an important matter in several critical environments including ground transportation, air transportation and power plants. In this paper, a high-Q near-field Microwave probe is designed and fabricated using defected ground structures for surface and subsurface crack detection in metal structures. For this purpos...
