چکیده

Solute transport problems, including sequential multi-species phenomena, frequently occur in soil systems. The goal of this paper is to present a novel one-dimensional numerical model with fully implicit form differential quadrature method for solving solute equations. analytical results three dispersion problems three- and four-chain members are used analyse the developed model. Simultaneously, outcomes compared performance fourth-order finite difference method. Finally, accuracy established discussed evaluated. According experiments, derived very useful widely applicable.

Adaptive fully implicit multi-scale finite-volume method for multi-phase flow and transport in heterogeneous porous media

We describe a sequential fully implicit (SFI) multi-scale finite volume (MSFV) algorithm for nonlinear multi-phase flow and transport in heterogeneous porous media. The method extends the recently developed multiscale approach, which is based on an IMPES (IMplicit Pressure, Explicit Saturation) scheme [P. Jenny, S.H. Lee, H.A. Tchelepi, Adaptive multiscale finite volume method for multi-phase f...

Solute Transport in Heterogeneous Porous Media

Solute mass transport in porous media is strongly correlated with pore fluid flow. The analysis of solute transport is an effective means for studying medium heterogeneities. In this study, we discuss the effects of heterogeneity on the tracer transport. Assuming steady fluid flow, we have simulated tracer transport in various permeability heterogeneities. The results show that the tracer distr...

Analysis of an Euler Implicit - Mixed Finite Element Scheme for Reactive Solute Transport in Porous Media

Abstract. In this paper we analyze an Euler implicit-mixed finite element scheme for a porous media solute transport model. The transporting flux is not assumed given, but obtained by solving numerically the Richards equation, a model for sub-surface fluid flow. We prove the convergence of the scheme by estimating the error in terms of the discretization parameters. In doing so we take into acc...

Solute Transport in Porous Media. Media with Capillaries as Voids

We study solute transport in porous media with periodic microstructures consisting of interconnected thin channels. We discuss a local physical mechanism that occurs at the intersections of channels and promotes mixing of the solute with the solvent (i.e., the host liquid). We identify the parameter regime, where this mechanism is the dominant cause of dispersion, and obtain the effective or ma...

Use of the generalized integral transform method for solving equations of solute transport in porous media

The generalized integral transform technique (GITT) is applied to solve the one-dimensional advection±dispersion equation (ADE) in heterogeneous porous media coupled with either linear or nonlinear sorption and decay. When both sorption and decay are linear, analytical solutions are obtained using the GITT for one-dimensional ADEs with spatially and temporally variable ̄ow and dispersion coeci...
