چکیده
Although fullerene (C60) has attracted great interest as a carbon-based nanomaterial with unique properties, today, little is known about the interaction of its water-soluble derivates, including fullerenol higher plants. Here, we investigated how [C60(OH)22-24] affects Zea mays, Strategy II plant, depending on iron status. Iron deficiency chlorosis common nutritional disorder affecting Maize plants were grown hydroponically, either [+FeII (ferrous) or +FeIII (ferric)] in Fe-free (-FeII and -FeIII) nutrient solution without supply. Fullerenol affected differently their Fe The beneficial effects observed FeII-deprived plants, successful suppression plant Fe-deficiency mainly younger (basal middle) region leaf blade. This expressed more severe compared older (apical) These changes accompanied by significant increase active lowering root apoplastic Fe, suggesting that may enhance mobilization roots, helping to alleviate chlorosis. By contrast, there no observable FeIII-deprived being significantly lower FeII-deficient Additionally, did not affect Fe-sufficient irrespective species (FeIII-EDTA FeII-EDTA) used Fe-sources. Our results provide new evidence for role Fe-fullerenol interactions enhancement gramineous tolerance conditions, which are one major limiting factors crop production all over world.

Heat-shock factor 1 both positively and negatively affects cellular clonogenic growth depending on p53 status.
HSF1 (heat-shock factor 1) is the master regulator of the heat-shock response; however, it is also activated by cancer-associated stresses and supports cellular transformation and cancer progression. We examined the role of HSF1 in relation to cancer cell clonogenicity, an important attribute of cancer cells. Ectopic expression or HSF1 knockdown demonstrated that HSF1 positively regulated cance...
متن کاملUnisexual Maize Plants and Their Bearing on Sex Differentiation in Other Plants and in Animals.
Differences in the size or shape of the chromosomes of the two sexes have been noted in many dioecious plants as well as in animals. A compilation by SINOTO (1929) gives 7. species of bryophytes and 51 species of angiosperms so characterized. In all but one case the female gametes are alike. The male gametes are of two kinds. They either differ in size or shape of one pair of chromosomes, or on...
متن کاملThe Damage of Consumer Brand Sabotage: How It Affects Other Consumers Depending on Their Brand-Relationship
Only recently, research has identified and conceptualized the new phenomenon of consumer brand sabotage where consumers have the dominant motive to harm a brand. Despite its high damage potential, the process by which CBS affects other consumers and damages the brand has not yet been examined. Furthermore, prior research has found a buffering and love-becomes-hate effect of consumer-brand relat...

This study examines the differential availability of family and parenting resources to children depending on their birth planning status. The National Longitudinal Survey of Youth data were analyzed, 3,134 mothers and their 5,890 children (M = 7.1 years, range = 1 month-14.8 years), of whom 63% were intended at conception, 27% were mistimed, and 10% were unwanted. Fixed-effects models show that...
متن کاملIron absorption from ferrous bisglycinate and ferric trisglycinate in whole maize is regulated by iron status.
BACKGROUND There is a need to determine whether iron absorption from iron amino acid chelates is protected from inhibition by dietary phytate and regulated normally by iron status. OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to compare iron absorption from ferrous sulfate, ferrous bisglycinate, and ferric trisglycinate in whole-maize meal; to determine whether iron from ferrous bisglycinate and...
