چکیده
Abstract This paper presents new findings on adhesively bonded timber-concrete composites with prefabricated concrete parts. Hereby, timber and are solely adhesive no metallic connectors have been used. Because the achievement of a continuous bond proved to be critical point in past studies, special attention is given that issue. The application procedure adhesives investigated small-scale samples manufacturing process full-scale composite beams span 8 m comparatively polymer mortar used as well common epoxy resin. Effects of Reinforcement Geometry on Strength and Stiffness in Adhesively Bonded Steel-Timber Flexural Beams
A finite element model is developed to analyse, as a function of volume fraction, the effects of reinforcement geometry and arrangement within a timber beam. The model is directly validated against experimental equivalents and found to never be mismatched by more than 8% in respect to yield strength predictions. Yield strength increases linearly as a function of increasing reinforcement volume ...
متن کاملDisbond detection in adhesively bonded composite structures using vibration signatures
This paper presents a structural health monitoring technique based on analysis of the dynamic signature of the structure, which changes as damage occurs, due to alterations in structural properties such as stiffness and damping. Experiments performed on plate specimens and T-joint specimens which had various degrees of damage in the form of delaminations showed that it is possible to quantify t...

Paper presents the main principals in designing wood-lightweight concrete composite floor structures using FEM models. All design-related analyses are performed by means of the FEA COSMOS/M program. Paper emphasises some important details in FEM model design (how to choose appropriate finite elements for different types of materials, how to connect concrete slab and timber beams to work togethe...
متن کاملAnalytical Solution of Stress Field in Adhesively Bonded Composite Single-Lap Joints Under Mechanical Loadings
In this paper, considering an adhesively bonded composite single-lap joint, a novel approach is presented to predict the peel and shear stress distributions of the adhesive layer for an ASTM standard test sample. In current method, the equilibrium equations are derived using the energy method and based on the Timoshenko’s beam theory. Two solution procedures then are discussed, one of which rep...
