From wastes to interconnected porous monolith: Upcycling of Al-based metal organic framework via pickering emulsion template

چکیده

An Al-based Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) obtained from Li-ion battery wastes as an upcycled material has been shaped a hierarchically porous solid monolith. This original method is based on the stabilization of Pickering High Internal Phase Emulsion (HIPE) by MOF particles that conducts to formation monolith after polymerization aqueous continuous phase and elimination organic internal emulsion. The presence small amount additive polymers rigidifies structure adhesive binder used improve final network porosity materials creating pore throats. makes MOFs accessible at surface shaping keeps some their properties. A screening different parameters proposed optimize ratio MOF/Polymer/Adhesive retains best properties MOFs. work shows great ability stabilize emulsions conduct polymer-MOF composite with interesting We assume this can be generalized other materials.
