From Single Nanowires to Smart Systems: Different Ways to Assess Food Quality

Recently, low-dimensional (1D, 2D) nanostructured materials have been attracting more and interest as building blocks for innovative systems. Metal oxide nanowires are one of the most widely used solid-state gas sensors, they simple to make, inexpensive, sensitive a wide range gases volatiles. Unfortunately, their broad sensitivity has price pay, which is very low selectivity. Fortunately, this flaw not problem all applications. Where boundary conditions defined “simple” (only presence target expected, without any interfering gases), single traditional chemiresistor may be best choice, while in cases where variables many, it better use an intelligent system. In paper, we will show resistive sensor based on SnO2 nanowire which, working at three temperatures (200, 250, 300 °C), able detect tens ppb ammonia (30 °C). The limit detection (LoD) was calculated 3 N/S, N standard deviation signal air S sensitivity.
