چکیده
The eventual material degradation of steel components in bio-implant, marine, and high-temperature applications is a critical issue that can have widespread negative ramifications from safety economic point view. Stemming their tribological, corrosion, erosion-based properties, there an increasing need to address these issues effectively. As one solution, surface processing techniques been proposed improve properties. However, common tend suffer spanning practicality high costs environmental impacts. To issues, friction-stir-processing (FSP) has technique increasingly utilized due its cost effective, non-polluting nature. By inducing large amounts strain plastic deformation, dynamic recrystallization occurs which largely influence the erosion properties via hardening, grain refinement, improvement passive layer formation. This review aims accumulate current knowledge FSP breakdown key factors enable metallurgical improvement. Having this understanding, thorough analysis variables relation presented. We finally then prospect future directions for research with suggestions on how continue expand.

متن کاملA Review on Friction Stir Welding of Steel
–Friction stir welding is a solid state welding technology used for welding low melting point metals, such as Al, Mg and its alloys. Later welding was conducted on dissimilar metals which also produced a better defect free joint. Tool design and welding parameters contributes a major role for producing a better weld. Material flow and friction heat are the factors that the internal factor for t...

High nitrogen martensitic stainless steel 30Cr15Mo1N plates were successfully welded by friction stir welding (FSW) at a tool rotation speed of 300 rpm with a welding speed of 100 mm/min, using W-Re tool. The sound joint with no significant nitrogen loss was successfully produced. Microstructure, mechanical and corrosion properties of an FSW joint were investigated. The results suggest that the...
متن کاملThe Effect of Vibration during Friction Stir Welding on Corrosion Behavior, Mechanical Properties, and Machining Characteristics of Stir Zone
Different methods have been applied to refine various characteristics of the zone (or nugget) obtained by friction stir welding (FSW). In the current research, joining components are vibrated normal to the weld line during FSW to refine the zone microstructure. This process is described as friction stir vibration welding (FSVW). The effect of FSVW on mechanical properties, corrosion behavior, a...
