چکیده

In this Letter, stabilizing a Faraday laser frequency to the atomic transition is proposed and experimentally demonstrated, where can work at single- or dual-frequency modes. High-resolution spectroscopy of cesium atom induced by obtained. By with spectroscopy, fluctuations are suppressed without need high-cost Pound–Drever–Hall system. The fractional Allan deviation residual error signal 3 × 10−14/τ single-frequency mode. While mode, linewidth beat-note spectra between two modes after locking narrowed be 85 Hz, which an order magnitude better than free-running linewidth. It used for microwave clocks may have potential in application optical generation when performance further improved.

Atomic vapor cells for chip-scale atomic clocks with improved long-term frequency stability.

A novel technique for microfabricating alkali atom vapor cells is described in which alkali atoms are evaporated into a micromachined cell cavity through a glass nozzle. A cell of interior volume 1 mm3, containing 87Rb and a buffer gas, was made in this way and integrated into an atomic clock based on coherent population trapping. A fractional frequency instability of 6 x 10(-12) at 1000 s of i...

A compact laser head with high-frequency stability for Rb atomic clocks and optical instrumentation

We present a compact and frequency-stabilized laser head based on an extended-cavity diode laser. The laser head occupies a volume of 200 cm3 and includes frequency stabilization to Doppler-free saturated absorption resonances on the hyperfine components of the Rb D2 lines at 780 nm, obtained from a simple and compact spectroscopic setup using a 2 cm3 vapor cell. The measured frequency stabilit...

Methods and evaluation of frequency aging in distributed-feedback laser diodes for rubidium atomic clocks.

Distributed-feedback laser diodes emitting at 780 nm have been evaluated, with respect to the aging of the injection current required for reaching the rubidium D2 resonance line. Results obtained for lasers operating in air and in vacuum for 9 months are reported. When operated at constant temperature, the laser current required for emission at the wavelength of the desired atomic resonance is ...

Frequency-stabilized diode laser with the Zeeman shift in an atomic vapor.

We demonstrate a robust method of stabilizing a diode laser frequency to an atomic transition. This technique employs the Zeeman shift to generate an antisymmetric signal about a Doppler-broadened atomic resonance, and therefore offers a large recapture range as well as high stability. The frequency of a 780-nm diode laser, stabilized to such a signal in Rb, drifted less than 0.5 MHz peak-peak ...

Magnetic Faraday – Instability

– In a magnetic fluid parametrically driven surface waves can be excited by an external oscillating magnetic field. A static magnetic field changes the restoring forces and damping coefficients of the various surface waves. This property enables the excitation of both subharmonic and harmonic responses of the standing waves. Introduction. – " Most fluids, if not all, may be used to produce thes...
