Frequency Specificity of Liquid-Fountain Swinging with Mist Generation: Effects of Ultrasonic Irradiation Angle

Atomization of liquid into the air attained through submerged ultrasound irradiation will involve formation fountain, which exhibits a sequence oscillating and/or intermittent characteristics/events: its vertical/axial growth and breakup; lateral “compound swinging”; associated dynamics mist spreading. This study attempts to provide mechanistic view ultrasonic atomization (UsA) process in terms swinging periodicity water fountain specifically examine influence (i.e., transducer installation) angle on liquid-fountain oscillations with generated intermittently. Through high-speed visualization, it was qualitatively found that as extent tilt (from vertical direction) increased, degree occurrence generation amount identifiable being tended decrease. trend reductions both rate breakup frequency tilt. It further found, analysis time variation resulting inclination, fluctuated periodically an asymmetric manner could be fairly predicted based proposed simple “pendulum” model. An optimum value installation observed judged 2° from viewpoint effective well fluid dynamic stability UsA fountain.
