چکیده
Background: Bronchiolitis is predominant among infants and mostly caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Respiratory illnesses are related to elevated anti-diuretic hormone which in turn leads hyponatremia (<135 mmol/L) Aim: To find frequency bronchiolitis children. Methods: From December 8, 2017 June 2018, researchers from the pediatrics department of Lahore General Hospital/Post Graduate Medical Institution conducted a cross-sectional study. All 246 cases meeting inclusion criteria were taken Pediatrics, Hospital, Lahore. After taking informed consent all basic information like age, sex contact detail was taken. Blood sample sent hospital laboratory evaluate serum sodium levels as per operational definition. Data input analysis carried out using SPSS version 20. Results: With ages ranging 2 24 months, mean age 13.29 6.35 months. There 124(50.4%) male 122(49.6%) female ratio same. The Na level 130.86 ± 6.61 mEq/L with minimum maximum value 115 145 respectively. A total 192(78%) had hyponatermia while other 54(22%) normal Na+ level. Conclusion: According findings this study it concluded that too high children i.e. 78%. So when child present he must be evaluated for level, if low then should also corrected along treatment bronchiolitis. Keywords: Bronchiolitis, Electrolyte imbalance, Hyponatermia, ICU, prognosis.

Association Between Hyponatremia and Higher Bronchiolitis Severity Among Children in the ICU With Bronchiolitis.
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES It remains unclear whether hyponatremia independently predicts a higher severity of bronchiolitis in children. The objective of this study was to investigate the association between hyponatremia and bronchiolitis severity in children hospitalized in the ICU for bronchiolitis. METHODS We conducted a 16-center, prospective cohort study of hospitalized children aged <2 ...
متن کاملBRIEF REPORT Association Between Hyponatremia and Higher Bronchiolitis Severity Among Children in the ICU With Bronchiolitis
METHODS: We conducted a 16-center, prospective cohort study of hospitalized children aged ,2 years with bronchiolitis during the winters of 2007 through 2010. Patients were classified into 2 groups (normonatremic [135–145 mEq/L] and hyponatremic [,135 mEq/L]) based on the firstmeasured serum sodium concentration on the day of hospitalization. Outcomes were use of mechanical ventilation and ICU ...
متن کاملHyponatremia is Associated with Increased Severity of Disease in Critically Ill Children with Bronchiolitis
INTRODUCTION: Hyponatremia is the most common electrolyte abnormality seen in the intensive care unit (ICU), and is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Critically ill children with bronchiolitis are at risk of developing hyponatremia, due to impaired renal free water excretion and exogenous sources of excess free water intake. We hypothesize that the development of hyponatremia i...
