Frequency of Hyperbilirubinemia in Perforated Appendicitis - A Current Update on Diagnostics and Management.

Background: Perforated appendix can be detected earlier by chemically with the aid of hyperbilirubinemia. It is a simple non-invasive modality that to detecting complicated appendicitis and avoid morbidity. Aim: To assess frequency hyperbilirubinemia in patients undergoing appendectomy due perforated appendicitis. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted which total 75 emergency age 15-70 years were recruited. Patients CLD, pregnancy, Congenital or acquired biliary disease, alcoholism hemolytic disease excluded. Blood sample obtained sent hospital histopathology laboratory it reported consultant pathologist for assessment Results: Age range this from mean 30.69±14.37 years. Majority 56(74.67%) 15-40 age. Out these patients, 43(57.33%) male 32(42.67%) females. Mean 1.67±0.87 mg/dl. Frequency found 63 (84.0%) patients. Practical implication: This will prompt diagnosis early management appendix, serum bilirubin used as absence ultrasound facility. Conclusion: very high.
