Frequency of Dementia in Type II Diabetes Mellitus

Background: Diabetes mellitus is the most prevailing non- communicable diseases worldwide. It main reason of morbidity and mortality. Cognitive dysfunction one major complications associated with diabetes. a risk factor for cognitive decline as duration diabetes progress if accompanied by hypoglycemic attacks. Aim: To determine frequency dementia in patients suffering from type II mellitus. Study design: Descriptive cross-sectional study Place study: Medical Department, Khyber Teaching Hospital, Peshawar 1st March 2019 to 30th September Methodology: Two hundred thirty five male female past 2 years were enrolled. The subjects clinically assessed through history physical examination. Results: mean age was 60±10.26 42% 58% patients. 12% had where 88% it not observed. Conclusion: 12%.
