Frequency of Cardiac Arrhythmias in Hypertensive Patients

Objective: To determine the frequency of cardiac arrhythmias in hypertensive patients.
 Study Design: Analytical Cross -sectional study.
 Place & Duration Study: Tertiary Cardiac Center, Lahore Pakistan from Jan 2021 to Dec2021.
 Methodology: Two hundred patients (males and females), age between 20-80 years, suffering disease (Blood Pressure ≥ 140/90mmHg), one year before were assessed study. After that ECG was done according International standards. Then undergone 24 hour Holter monitoring test. Presence arrhythmia confirmed by interpretation 12 lead report. All data noted. Patients with treated consultation Electrophysiology (EP) department hospital. By using SPSS version 26, statistical tabulated, analyzed interpreted.
 Results: The mean calculated be 58.64±7.74 years. In this study males 148(74%) while 52(26%) females. duration hypertension found 5.09±1.56 noted 22(11%) cases. Out 22 cases arrhythmias, 02(1%) had premature atrial contractions, flutter, 04(2%) ventricular contractions 14(7%) fibrillation. significantly higher above 40 years (p<0.05). There no difference both genders as well has unremarkable effect on (p>0.05).
 Conclusion: research concluded patients, is low but its value not unremarkable.
