FREQUENCY AND GRADING OF SUPERNUMERARY CUSPS IN PERMANENT HUMAN TEETH OF PATIENTS VISITING THE TEACHING HOSPITALS OF PESHAWAR DENTAL COLLEGE AND KHYBER COLLEGE OF DENTISTRY, PESHAWAR

Objectives: To document the frequency and grading of supernumerary cusps in permanent teeth patients visiting Peshawar Dental College Khyber Dentistry Peshawar.Methods materials: A cross sectional study was carried out which 753 attending outdoor department who fulfi lled inclusion criteria were examined, 229 (Males: 122, Females: 107) recruited for participation through consecutive sampling technique. Age group selected from 13 to 50 years. The examined 4 days a week until required sample size accomplished. Permanent maxillary first molars incisors (central, lateral) studied presence cusp Carabelli Talon respectively, while mandibular second premolars central cusp. Data analyzed using SPSS version 20 statistical analysis done Chi-square test.Results: overall calculated be 30.4% was29.1% 1.33%. Gender-wise distribution significant at p<0.05. In present study, grade III (overlapped tubercle) showed highest degree expression type 3 prevalent our local population.Conclusion: Amongst reported cusps, occurrence higher population with signifi cant diff erence seen among genders. Central not any subjects. There incidence male compared more frequently females.
