چکیده

Abstract Concomitant maxillofacial and cervical spine injuries occur in 0.8–12% of the cases. We examined relation injury localization probability fracture. A retrospective study was conducted on patients that have been treated at Dortmund General Hospital for both to region between January 1st, 2007 December 31th, 2017. Descriptive statistical methods were used describe correlation with gender, age as well localization. 7708 hospitalized injury, among them 173 identified injury. The average ages genders lie remarkably above all trauma (36.2 y.o. male 50.9 female). In group men, most found 50 65. Whereas women occurred after 80. relative ratio (CSI) varies 1.1 5.26% (MFI), being highest soft tissue group, forehead fractures (3.12%) panfacial (2.52%). Further, nasal, Le Fort I II, zygomatic complex mandibular condyle are often associated CSI. Fractures next Frankfurt horizontal plane represent 87.7% MFI concomitant Patients critical groups a high-energy more likely suffer both, CSI injuries. Our findings help avoid missing diagnosis patients.

Initial closed reduction of cervical spine fracture-dislocation injuries.

STANDARDS There is insufficient evidence to support treatment standards. GUIDELINES There is insufficient evidence to support treatment guidelines. Early closed reduction of cervical spine fracture-dislocation injuries with craniocervical traction is recommended to restore anatomic alignment of the cervical spine in awake patients. Closed reduction in patients with an additional rostral injur...

Upper cervical spine injuries.

The unique anatomy of the upper cervical spine and the typical mechanisms of injury yield a predictable variety of injury patterns. Traumatic ligamentous injuries of the atlanto-occipital joint and transverse atlantal ligament are relatively uncommon, have a poor prognosis for healing, and often respond best to surgical stabilization. Bony injuries, including occipital condyle fractures, atlas ...
