چکیده
In this paper, we consider a new type of Bessel beams having Fourier-invariance property and, therefore, called Fourier-Bessel beams. contrast to the known beams, these have weak side lobes. Analytical expressions for complex amplitude proposed field in initial plane source and far region been obtained. It is shown that finite energy, although they do not Gaussian envelope. Finite-energy, accelerating Bessel pulses.
We numerically investigate the possibility to generate freely accelerating or decelerating pulses. In particular it is shown that acceleration along the propagation direction z may be obtained by a purely spatial modulation of an input Gaussian pulse in the form of finite-energy Bessel pulses with a cone angle that varies along the radial coordinate. We discuss simple practical implementations o...
متن کاملAccelerating finite energy Airy beams.
We investigate the acceleration dynamics of quasi-diffraction-free Airy beams in both one- and two-dimensional configurations. We show that this class of finite energy waves can retain their intensity features over several diffraction lengths. The possibility of other physical realizations involving spatiotemporal Airy wave packets is also considered.
متن کاملEntangled Bessel-Gaussian beams.
Orbital angular momentum (OAM) entanglement is investigated in the Bessel-Gaussian (BG) basis. Having a readily adjustable radial scale, BG modes provide an alternative basis for OAM entanglement over Laguerre-Gaussian modes. We show that the OAM bandwidth in terms of BG modes can be increased by selection of particular radial wavevectors and leads to a flattening of the spectrum, which allows ...
متن کاملNonlinear Bessel beams
The effect of the Kerr nonlinearity on linear non-diffractive Bessel beams is investigated analytically and numerically using the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The nonlinearity is shown to primarily affect the central parts of the Bessel beam, giving rise to radial compression or decompression depending on whether the nonlinearity is focusing or defocusing, respectively. The dynamical propert...
متن کاملPropagation of apertured Bessel beams.
The propagation features of several apertured Bessel beams are numerically calculated. The calculations show that the relations of axial intensity versus propagation distance are similar to the radial distribution of the aperture functions, which may be helpful in choosing the proper aperture functions in experiments.
