Fostering Critical Cultural Awareness Among Student Teachers of English via Virtual Exchange Project

This study aimed to explore critical cultural awareness improvement of prospective teachers with a transnational virtual exchange project. Within the scope this study, English studying at Language Teaching (ELT) department in Turkey attended project that was organized other from Germany and Israel. The weekly interacted each via online meetings, they collaborated on assigned tasks come up final product, which is an teaching lesson plan. research designed as qualitative data were analyzed according principles directed content analysis. Directed analysis used when researchers start theory code data. In Byram’s (1997) framework direct participants’ interactions transcribed verbatim Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC) framework’s dimension. revealed teachers’ significantly improved.
