Fossil vs. Active Geothermal Systems: A Field and Laboratory Method to Disclose the Relationships between Geothermal Fluid Flow and Geological Structures at Depth

چکیده

Comparison between fossil and analogue active geothermal systems permit to obtain key-parameters define a conceptual model of the area under exploration. The approach is based on structural, kinematic, fluid inclusions analyses. system investigated describe distribution hydrothermal mineralization as witness flow through geological structures bodies, at depth. Structural kinematic data (to preferential direction flow) are collected in structural stations by scan lines boxes key outcrops. Distribution, length, width fractures, veins bring evaluate permeability and, analogy, deep roots system. Fluid analysis shed light density, viscosity, temperature paleo-fluids. Data integration provides hydraulic conductivity. In systems, fieldwork addressed paleo-stress with from recent faults (<2 Ma), compare local focal mechanisms. By this, indications present pathways given. main advantage resides obtaining parameters normally got after drilling, thus contributing strengthen strategy exploration, de-risking unsuccessful boreholes.

on translation of phatic communion and socio-cultural relationships between the characters of the novels

phatic communion is a cultural concept which differs across cultures. according to hofstede (2001), the u.s. tends to have individualistic culture; however, asian countries tend to have collectivistic cultures. these cultures view phatic communion differently. in individualistic cultures like u.s., phatic communion reflects speakers’ socio-cultural relationships in conversations. to see whether...

Integrated Alteration Mineralogy and Fluid-inclusion Study at the Dixie Valley Geothermal Field. Nevada

Cuttings from geothermal wells in Dixie Valley, Nevada document the complex history of the Jurassic reservoir rocks now contained within the hanging wall of the Stillwater normal fault. Six stages of postOligocene alteration can be recognized on the basis of mineral paragenesis, rock associations, fluid-inclusion temperatures and apparent salinities. The paragenetic sequence from oldest to youn...

Fluid Geochemistry at the Raft River Geothermal Field, Idaho: New Data and Hydrogeological Implications

Following a period of exploration and development in the mid-late 1970’s, there was little activity at the Raft River geothermal field for the next ~20 years. US Geothermal Inc. acquired the project in 2002, and began commercial power generation in January 2008. From mid-2004 to present, US Geothermal Inc. has collected geochemical data from geothermal and monitoring wells in the field, as well...
