FORMULATION OF SOLID DISPERSIONS FOR ENHANCEMENT OF SOLUBILITY AND DISSOLUTION RATE OF SIMVASTATIN

Objective: The objective of the present work was to formulate solid dispersions simvastatin for enhancement its aqueous solubility and dissolution rate.
 Methods: In study, were prepared by Kneading Solvent evaporation methods. polymeric carriers like Polyethylene glycol (PEG) 6000 Polyvinyl Pyrrolidone (PVP) K30 used in different ratios (ratio drug: carrier 1:1, 1:2) dispersions. characterized differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), evaluated drug content, percentage yield, saturation solubility, vitro studies. best formula dispersion selected according data.
 Results: F7 formulation found be an optimized containing PVP ratio 1:1 solvent technique. Drug content higher i.e. 94.89 batch. FT-IR spectra revealed that there no interaction between drugs carriers. DSC thermogram indicated entrapment conversion crystalline into amorphous form. showed maximum release 98.60% 60 min which is 2 times greater than pure making it formulation.
 Conclusion: successfully enhanced through Solid with method more soluble kneading K30.
