Gel hand sanitizer digunakan sebagai salah satu cara untuk menjaga kesehatan dan kebersihan tangan dari bakteri Escherichia coli. Kulit buah mahoni (Swietenia mahagoni) tanaman yang memiliki kandungan antibakteri. Zat aktif pada kulit diperoleh dengan ekstraksi menggunakan metode perkolasi pelarut etanol 96%. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak sediaan gel dalam menghambat pertumbuhan KHM (Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum) dilakukan difusi cakram. Hasil didapat yaitu range 5% - 7,5% rata zona hambat 6,98 – 7,14 mm. Sediaan dibuat konsentrasi 6,5% perbandingan basis karbopol 940 HPMC. Evaluasi memenuhi persyaratan uji. Pengujian sumuran 8,27 mm 8,25 Hasill uji dianalisis ONE WAY ANOVA, hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan (P=<0,05) antara seluruh konsentrasi.
