چکیده
Abstract Double white dwarf (DWD) binaries are important for studies of common-envelope (CE) evolution, Type Ia supernova progenitors and Galactic sources low-frequency gravitational waves. PTF J0533+0209 is a DWD system with short orbital period P orb ∼ 20 minutes thus so-called LISA verification source. The formation this other DWDs still under debate. In paper, we discuss the possible scenarios binary argue that it not likely to have formed through CE evolution. Applying new magnetic-braking prescription, use MESA code model stable mass transfer. We find can well reproduce observed WD masses but effective temperature hydrogen abundance low-mass He component. possibility using H flashes mitigate discrepancy. Finally, future evolution into an AM CVn such as those will be detected by spaceborne GW observatories like LISA, TianQin, Taiji.

Lisa Astronomy of Double White Dwarf Binary Systems
The Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) will provide the largest observational sample of (interacting) double white dwarf binaries, whose evolution is driven by radiation reaction and other effects, such as tides and mass transfer. We show that, depending on the actual physical parameters of a source, LISA will be able to provide very different quality of information: for some systems LIS...
متن کاملMass Transfer between Double White Dwarfs
Three periodically variable stars have recently been discovered (V407 Vul, P = 9.5 min; ES Cet, P = 10.3 min; RX J0806.3+1527, P = 5.3 min) with properties that suggest that their photometric periods are also their orbital periods, making them the most compact binary stars known. If true, this might indicate that close, detached, double white dwarfs are able to survive the onset of mass transfe...
متن کاملFormation of Millisecond Pulsars with Heavy White Dwarf Companions: Extreme Mass Transfer on Subthermal Timescales.
We have performed detailed numerical calculations of the nonconservative evolution of close X-ray binary systems with intermediate-mass (2.0-6.0 M middle dot in circle) donor stars and a 1.3 M middle dot in circle accreting neutron star. We calculated the thermal response of the donor star to mass loss in order to determine its stability and follow the evolution of the mass transfer. Under the ...
متن کاملPHL 5038 : A spatially resolved white dwarf + brown dwarf binary
A near-infrared excess is detected at the white dwarf PHL 5038 in UKIDSS photometry, consistent with the presence of a cool, substellar companion. We have obtained Hand K-grism spectra and images of PHL 5038 using NIRI on Gemini North. The target is spatially and spectrally resolved into two components; an 8000 K DA white dwarf, and a likely L8 brown dwarf companion, separated by 0.94 ′′. The s...
متن کاملStability and energetics of mass transfer in double white dwarfs
The donor star in an interacting double white dwarf lies deep within the potential well of the accretor, a condition which both alters the minimum mass transfer rate needed to generate an Eddington luminosity, and limits the fraction of matter which can be driven from the binary in a super-Eddington wind. That mass loss itself alters the threshold condition for the onset of dynamical instabilit...
