Formaldehyde Free Renewable Thermosetting Foam Based on Biomass Tannin with a Lignin Additive

چکیده
This study presents easily prepared free formaldehyde bio-based foam based on a thermosetting resin comprising tannin–lignin–furfuryl alcohol-glyoxal (TLFG) via mechanical stirring in presence of ether as foaming agent. The was developed through co-polycondensation reaction glyoxal and furfuryl alcohol with condensed tannin lignin, which is forest-derived product. Investigation using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed more closed-cell structure without cracks collapse the TLFG foam, higher apparent density respect to tannin–furanic–formaldehyde (TFF) foam. Differential calorimetry (DSC), dynamic thermomechanical analysis (DTMA), thermogravimetric (TGA) investigations revealed that curing process proceeds even at lower temperature. Additionally, it acquired heat resistance than TFF Moreover, has robust chemical network structure, contributes efficiently strength pulverization degree compared TFF-derived Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR) electrospray ionization mass (ESI-MS) proved cross-inking reactions between tannin, alcohol, have been proceeded efficiently.

Characterization of Renewable PUF and Preparation of Polyurethane Foam Composites with Alkali Lignin/Renewable PUF
The renewable PUF was prepared by the alcoholysis of the used polyurethane foam composite and the polyurethane foam composite was also prepared by alkali lignin and renewable PUF. The renewable PUF was examined by GC-MS, the results showed the renewable PUF mainly consists of glycol, propanol and 1, 2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, which can directly be used as the raw material of polyurethane foam ...
متن کاملFormaldehyde stabilization facilitates lignin monomer production during biomass depolymerization.
Practical, high-yield lignin depolymerization methods could greatly increase biorefinery productivity and profitability. However, development of these methods is limited by the presence of interunit carbon-carbon bonds within native lignin, and further by formation of such linkages during lignin extraction. We report that adding formaldehyde during biomass pretreatment produces a soluble lignin...
متن کاملRenewable biomass-derived lignin in transportation infrastructure strengthening applications
Lignin is considered as nature's most abundant aromatic polymer co-generated during papermaking and biomass fractionation. There are different types of lignins depending on the source (hardwood, softwood, annual crops, etc.) and recovery process. Recently, an emerging class of lignin products, namely sulphur-free lignins, from biomass conversion processes, solvent pulping and soda pulping, have...

Ethylene glycol (EG)-based lubricant was prepared with dissolved organosolv lignin from birch wood (BL) and softwood (SL) biomass. The effects of different lignin types on the rheological, thermal, and tribological properties of the lignin/EG lubricants were comprehensively investigated by various characterization techniques. Dissolving organosolv lignin in EG results in outstanding lubricating...
متن کاملLignin Hydrogenolysis: Improving Lignin Disassembly through Formaldehyde Stabilization
Lignocellulosic biomass is available in large quantities and constitutes an attractive feedstock for the sustainable production of bulk and fine chemicals. Although methods have been established for the conversion of its cellulosic fractions, valorization of lignin has proven to be challenging. The difficulty in disassembling lignin originates from its heterogeneous structure and its propensity...
