?Forest habitats of Godech Municipality, Western Bulgaria

The current study aims at revealing the forest habitat diversity of Godech Municipality, according to EUNIS classification. Initial data was collected from Ministry Environment and Water Forestry Management Plans. Subsequently, 418 vegetation plots (relevés) 3422 verification points were during fieldwork seasons 2019 2020. research territory is situated in Western Bulgaria close proximity country’s border with Republic Serbia. Forests cover a total 144.85 km 2 . Their phytocoenoses are dominated by Fagus sylvatica L. (59.22 ), Quercus cerris (14.85 Carpinus betulus (4.94 dalechampii Ten. (2.39 Q. frainetto (2.99 ). There plantations Pinus nigra J. F. Arnold (20.87 P. sylvestris (16.06 ) Picea abies H. Karst (11.65 also. experiencing some major threats, such as logging, pollution fires.
