Foregrounding black African immigrants in mathematics education research

Generally, research with Black youth/population in mathematics education have largely focused on their experiences the context of United States a special focus issues race/racism, equity, and social justice. While these studies are important informed our understanding schooling youth, there is dearth specificity learning African immigrant youth. In this paper, using duoethnography, we analyze previous projects youth/families to argue for more nuances theoretical methodological lenses when engaging population.
